The great Indian anger

It took only ten men from across the border to rip apart the security facade of a country which claims itself to be an emerging superpower. In India public memory is very selective and very short too.Just few weeks back before the Mumbai terror attacks serial blasts ripped through the state of Assam but we lapped up the news as Assam happens to be too distant from both Delhi and Mumbai. There were no customary "fight back" programmes on different news channels across the country precisely because Assam does not fall within our concept of nationhood . The point I am trying to stress that we are a deeply divided country. Had it been a blast in local suburban train or a crowded fish market in Mumbai the outcry would not have the same as we see now. The terrorists have struck the elite landmark of Mumbai such as Taj and Oberoi . Today as we watch Preity Zinta waxing eloquent angrily against the political class we wonder why the spirit of the same Mumbai was sleeping when "poor migrants" were being targetted and were being chased out Mumbai by the goons of Raj Thackrey out of Mumbai. I am deliberately using "poor migrants" under quote obviously to stress the point that are different strata of Migrants in big cities like Mumbai and Delhi. The elite of Mumbai feels threatened because now terror has landed right into their backyard. Please note that I am in no way trying to belittle the tragedy which Mumbai witnessed last week . In am very angry and precisely this is the reason I am writing this blog which is not so customary for a not so cyber savy person like me.After every terror attack India discovers and presents definite Pakistani hands which is summarily thrown in the dustbin by Pakistaini establishment be it military or civilian. India was angry when Parliament was attacked but it is yet to punish those who perpetrated that crime. In restropect it seems that thirteen security men who laid down their life defending the seat of Parliament did so in vain as the ungrateful nation has forgotten them long back.India is angry but it has to be seen how the likes of Condolezza Rice and Obama take this anger. The super powers of the world need to check and verify this anger and if they do not see this anger justified it will peter out and will find expression in the form of candle light march to gateaway . The need of the hour is to import tons of candles and wait for the next attack.Another option is to invite the functionaries of Lashkar and Jaish and ask them as to why they are angry with us
